A’ Cr\u00e0pa Mangia is located in the heart of the Cilento and Valle di Diano National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site around 125 km south of Naples. Sitting on a hillside between the coastal town of St. Maria di Castellabate and the medieval mountain village of Castellabate, the estate is like a small village.

In our 12 apartments of varying sizes, you can travel together while staying separately. Communal areas and private living quarters allow you to shape your stay as you desire, together or side by side. A 15-minute walk away, in Santa Maria di Castellabate, you’ll find the nearest beach, along with restaurants, shops and bars. A quick hike or a leisurely stroll leads to hilltop Castellabate, with its winding alleys and hidden courtyards. When the farmers in Cilento would check in on each other, they would ask: <\/span><\/p>

“Mangia a’ cr\u00e0pa?”, literally translated as “Is the goat eating?”<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>

The answer “A’ cr\u00e0pa mangia!” meant “All is well!”.<\/span><\/p>

Our estate was built in the 17th-century by the noble Perotti family as a working farm and summer residence. When we fell in love with it in the late 1990s, the main house still stood, as well as remnants of the former barn, coach house and bakery.

Where others saw ruins, we saw a vision. Our vision ultimately exceeded any doubts. Our country estate with twelve holiday apartments is located in the heart of the Cilento and Valle di Diano National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, around 125 km south of Naples. It is situated on a hillside between the coastal town of St. Maria di Castellabate and the medieval mountain village of Castellabate.
A’ Cr\u00e0pa Mangia itself is also a bit like a small village. Traveling together while living separately is wonderfully possible in our apartments of different sizes. Communal areas and private living areas ensure that you can spend your stay with or next to each other as you wish. In St. Maria di Castellabate you will find the nearest beach, restaurants, shops and bars. You can reach the coastal town in just a few minutes by car or 15 minutes on foot. The mountain village of Castellabate, with its winding alleyways and hidden courtyards, is around 25 minutes’ walk uphill. When we fell in love with it at the end of the 1990s, the remains of the former barn, the coach house and the bakery building were still standing next to the main building. Instead of all the ruins, we saw a vision. And it was stronger than any reservations.
