Follow your curiousity

Get moving, explore the outdoors, try out new things and discover old ones. A’ Cràpa Mangia is the starting point for your own personal holiday story. In Cilento, there are endless sights to see and experiences to make. Here are a few handpicked ideas and recommendations from us.

01

Walking, jogging & hiking

A scenic route starting closeby leads from S. Marco (behind the harbour, heading towards Vallone Alto) along the sea to Punta delle Sirene on the Licosa peninsula. There’s more wonder to be found along Punta Tresino to the old village and church ruins of S. Giovanni. If you prefer something more energetic, hike up Monte Stella for phenomenal views of Monte Gelbison.

Autumn is ideal for long beach walks. Whether towards Punta Tresino, on Pozzillo beach, between Santa Maria and San Marco, or from Ogliastro Marina towards Punta Licosa, beauty awaits in every direction. Sunsets over the Amalfi Coast and Capri are spectacular on clear days.

02

On two wheels: bike and motorcycle

The hilly hinterlands and meandering coastal roads are a dream for cyclists and motorcyclists alike. Epic routes for all levels start directly from our estate, including rides that have challenged Giro d’Italia-level riders. The 600 km cycling route “La Via del Silento,” with its 15 stages, also passes through Castellabate.

03

Beaches

Pozzillo Beach stretches between Santa Maria and Santa Marco, boasting fine sands and a gently sloping shoreline. Like all Castellabate beaches, it proudly displays the Bandiera Blu, the Blue Flag for excellent water quality. Hire a sun lounger and a parasol from Mauro at La Tartaruga beach bar, or enjoy refreshments at one of the small beach stalls. Pebble coves can be found at Punta Licosa.

04

Winter & Christmas

Activities Cilento
Winter shouldn’t stop you from having lunch in the sun on the terrace or taking in a majestic sunset while strolling along the beach. In Castellabate, experience a living nativity scene with local residents, listen to Christmas concerts in the basilica, or cozy up by the fireplace with helpings of Panettone. Fancy escaping the gray at home as a couple? We’ve got the right package for you.

05

Gastronomy & culinary experiences

Activities - A‘ Cràpa Mangia
We love sharing our favourite spots for authentic Cilentan cuisine. For cooking with the best local ingredients, we’ll point you to the right shops and market stalls. Fancy trying your hand at making real Cilentan pasta or pizza? We can arrange a workshop for you in our large hall – with a real pizzaiolo or even a local nonna. Just ask Lucia!

06

Buffalo mozzarella

Activities - A‘ Cràpa Mangia

In Cilento, you’ll encounter plenty of water buffalo. They provide milk for the famous buffalo mozzarella. Try it the local way: fresh, at room temperature, with just a drop of olive oil. For a close-up experience, visit the organic buffalo farm Vannulo. We can organize a tour of the dairy with tastings afterward.

07

Boat trips, diving and all things fish

Summertime boat trips are offered from the harbour at S. Marco. For a more private experience, contact Lucia to rent our own boat with a skipper. The small coves around Punta Licosa act as a natural underwater marine park, and are a paradise for divers.

If that’s not enough adventure, join local fishermen for a night and experience sealife in the Mediterranean firsthand.

08

Excursions & culture

Just 16 km north of our estate lie the Greek temples of the Paestum archeaological site. The notorious Pompeii is also just a day trip away, as are the iconic island icons of Capri and Procida.

Craving a classic Neapolitan pizza? Grab one in the buzzing streets of Naples. On the way back, stop in Vietri sul Mare along the Amalfi Coast to admire or shop for the region’s famous hand-painted ceramics and tiles.

09

Yoga

We can happily provide you with equipment for yoga sessions. Stretch out on our large communal terrace or in another spot in the estate. We also regularly offer seminars focusing on movement and self-awareness.

Still not enough?

Would you rather take in a concert by the temple of Paestum or reign over Cilento from a hot air balloon? Walk with our donkeys though the olive groves or dance and feast at the Sagra in the next village? Play a round of padel or tennis, or just make some limoncello? We’re not exactly short of ideas for your holiday. Let’s find out which ones are right for you.
