The Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods is perfect for walking at your own pace. Many of our guests appreciate setting off in the morning in a relaxed manner, pausing along the way and enjoying the view – without any time pressure.
This is precisely why family accommodation away from the big hotels is so pleasant:
After the hike, peace and quiet awaits, a good feeling of arrival and a place to take a deep breath.
Getting to the starting point – easily accessible & relaxed
There are regular buses from the port in Amalfi to Agerola / Bomerano. Arriving by boat is a particularly nice way to start your vacation.
Our personal tip:
Don’t skimp on the Amalfi Coast’s Path of the Gods. It’s worth dedicating the whole day to this experience and then ending it comfortably on the estate.
Out and about on the Sentiero degli Dei
Directions to the Amalfi Coast Path of the Gods
Buses leave from the port of Amalfi in the direction of Agerola (blue buses). You should get off in Bomerano at Piazza Capasso. South of the piazza (to the right of a café) you will already see the signs for “Sentiero degli Dei” – just follow these signs. Let’s go! The signs guide hikers along a narrow road slightly downhill. Following the signs, turn right and take the small bridge that leads to the upper road. Follow this road to the left and you will soon reach the start of the “Sentiero degli Dei” (a large sign is emblazoned on the wall). The road now becomes a hiking trail, and this is how it continues from here on. In places, the route leads through secluded little woods where sheep and goats come to feed. The path forks at the top of the pass, turn right downhill and then right again towards Nocelle. The trail now continues along the cliffs. Follow the signs towards Nocelle without exception. It goes up and down a little, over rocky outcrops and past a grotto – always accompanied by great views! Once you arrive in Nocelle, follow the steps until you reach a shelter with a water source – on the right-hand side of the steps is a beautiful large ceramic house sign for the “Casa degli Dei”.
Arrive in Nocelle or Positano
Once you arrive in Nocelle, you can decide:
- continue comfortably by bus
- or take a sporty walk down to Positano
Many of our guests particularly enjoy returning to the peaceful surroundings of their vacation home after this eventful day.
Tip: You can find a good tour description in the Rother hiking guide: Gulf of Naples, Margrit and Jürgen Wiegand, 2007, ISBN 978-3-7633-4200-6.
